A day off!

Thanks to the festival of Saraswathi Pooja, which has allowed us to have a day off from our day-to-day activities.

The customs and traditions of the whole festival is designed in such a way that women tend to get an outlet from their strenuous household chores. It involves going from household to household, singing, playing kolaatam(dandiya), munching on different delicacies etc.,!!!

Not all the practices of our ancestors can be termed as pointless and merely “ritualistic”. One should look at the social significance and psychological effects of the customs before giving passing comments.

If we ourselves look down upon our ancestors, how can we expect the whole world to understand the significance of our ancestors who were much more advanced than where we are now?

To all those who wish to fulfill the dreams of former president Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, let us start from placing our ancestors in high pedestals!

Jai Hind!

P.S., I have continued the topic from last week since I have lots of personal memories to share❤.
